Common Forum Words [[For Newbies]]

Newbie/Noob: A new member of the forum.
RP: Short for 'Roleplay'
Bump: To bring a thread to the top of the first page. Done by pressing a specific button, or by simply replying the thread.
OOC: Out of character talk in a roleplay.
Lol: Laugh out loud.
Board: Boards, like Moonfrost News, Important news, General... that stuff.
Category: You know, Announcements/News, General, Special, Roleplay... etc
PM (Private Messages): A private message that no other members can view but the sender and the receiver.
Clowder: A group of cats with a hierarchy and organization.
Mod/Moderator: A person who has a high rank -- their job is to solve problems and make sure all the posts are acceptable. They report problems and sometimes can ban members. They are to be respected.
Tryouts: Something that occurs when several people want one character. They will all PM 'tryouts' which are a small paragraph of the character doing something like, hunting, playing...etc. To the creator of the character, who will choose them depending on they like the most.
Chat: Well, it's that box at the bottom that you chat in.
Roleplay: When you create a character, a human animal or creature, and you write a bit from their perspectives like story. Someone else replies, and basically its like a few people creating a story together.
FAQ: You should know. Frequently Asked Questions. I highly recommend checking that out whenever you have the slightest of problems.
Emoticons: Small smilies that represent emotions
Thread: A group of posts under one title.
Profile: A small kind of thing about you. It contains info about how many posts you have, how many cookies...etc. You can modify your emails, passwords and usernames there as well.
Character Profile: A profile of your character.
Spam: Useless, random stuff that is completely unessary. It must be limitted to the Random/Spam board. It is a short post, a post of gibberish, or a post off-topic in a place that is not General or Random/Spam.
Message Board: Another word for forum.
God-modding: When someone makes their character invincible; a Gary Stu or Mary Sue.
Powerplay: When someone takes control of someone elses' character without their permission.
