If you are wondering about battle, you should definitely read this guide. So just in minutes, you can turn from an initiate fighter, to a pro that everyone she be aware of! Grin

Since the lastest plots in the story are of war, most of the cats and dogs are at battle. In order to be a good fighter, you must know what is possible to do, and what isn't. What are the moves that can do the most damage, and how to avoid an attack.

Cats:
Cats are basicly agile, small but sturdy creatures. They can do amazing stuff without needing superpowers and can jump astonishing heights and land on their feet when falling. They are little, but they have sharp claws, and are light and fast and are designed to face dogs from the very start. They have clever fast-thinking minds and remember every strike, stumble, blow that they recieve and give to their opponents.
Weaknesses:
Red: To wound a cat fatally, you only need to get a good swipe at one thing. The belly. A cat's most vulnerable position is it's belly facing upward, back pressed to the ground. This leaves a perfect target to go for the belly, or the throat. The next most dangerous pose for a cat is the neck and throat. With any animal, the neck and throat tear is enough to finish the fight.
Orange: Another dangerous wound to take is an injury on the head. A blow hard with sharp claws can stun a cat, and leave it exposed and bleeding for a death blow.
Yellow: If the cat is injured in such a place like eyes or ears or nose, it may permanently destroy one of the senses, or injure the cat too badly to fight back.
Light Green: An strong lash across the face or a good hard yank on the paw are all excellent attacks to weaken a cat enough to be easily killed. The paw can be twisted or dislocated if thrown hard enough, and a rake across the race can cause blood to drip into the cat's eye. A swipe hard enough across the side of the face can even break a cat's jaw!
Dark Green: Attack's like this slow down a cat and make them very easy to injure further or kill. Slash at a cat's shoulders, and it often receives a bad wound their and cannot attack well while limping. A good spring on the back of the cat can unbalance it and will lead to the pin trick.
Light blue: These areas are places like legs, they are the best body parts to grab and hold. This often unbalances a cat, and disables them of attacking with the leg that is held by the attacker. Also, if a dog is attempting to pick up a cat and throw it, the scruff or leg is advised.
Dark blue: These are spots that are good for clinging onto when trying to unbalance a cat. Dig in claws or nip them around there. It makes the cat nervous and in a less safe position. Scratching these places is the easiest.
Gray: Bites and scratches at this area do the least damage. Although this is so, a good hard yank on the tail will shock a cat, and often cause a lot of pain, but is quite harmless.
Pink: Pads and claws are little things to worry about in battle. However, they can weaken a cat as much as they help one. If the stones are particularly sharp underpaw, then it will make it harder for the cat, because rough ground scraping on their pads is something they don't enjoy! Snagging their claws also sometimes leads cats into trouble. It is a painful thing to happen, but is harmless. Thorns also may be stuck in pads. Be wary that this can happen to dogs as well, but they are sturdier, and there is less chance of this happening.
Fight Tips [[Guidelines to Battle]] Catattack
(Yes, that's drawn by me. Don't comment on how silly it looks! It's difficult using paint!)

Strengths
Cats are more swift and quick then dogs. The cats of Blessedmoon and Moonfrost are full of cats designed to fight dogs. They are fast-thinking clever creatures that can slink under amazingly small gaps and slink into dark tunnels without getting wedged up in a corner or something. They are fast and can jump five times their height. Imagine a dog doing that! Their speed gives them an advantage to overwhelm the dog with nips and taunting jabs. Eventually, the dog will give in, or the cat will do the quick move of unbalancing the dog. Although dogs have advantage of size, cats have the advantage of speed and thinking. They can give powerful swats with unsheathed claws while dogs have blunt claws. Cats are quick and can easily manuver pounces and slashes without even panting.

Dogs
Dogs are powerful large creatures with huge snapping jaws and heavy weight. They are slower and less agile than a cat, but are stronger and a lot heavier and if they attack correctly, they can do an amazing amount of damage to a cat. Dogs are dangerous creatures, but ones that obey one pack leader, and if the pack leader is a bad one, then the dogs are bad attackers too.
Weaknesses
Red: The neck and throat are places that like cats, if there is damage inflicted there, it is often a death blow. Dogs suffer as much as cats, and a good bite or scratch on the neck or throat can kill a dog quickly.
Orange: The orange areas are places where if wounded bad enough or enough times, then the dog could be killed. Belly wounds are easy to do with cats, for when dogs pin them to the ground they can claw their bellies. This is often a move that will have the enemy running. Especially with dogs.
Yellow: Like cats, if the eyes, years or nose are struck or ripped badly, it can permanently cripple one of the senses. Dogs particularly have a weakness with their ears. They can be easily torn or bitten clean off even! Their noses can be ripped and probably easily scarred forever. Eyes can be blinded and sometimes ripped out capably by cat claws. Tongues can recieve fatal rips and a good blow can possibly disable the dog's talking skills.
Light Green: A grab and hold body part that and it can unbalance the dog, especially if there is a cat on two seperate legs, the dog is often knocked down and exposed for the attack to the throat or belly. If a cat fastens its teeth to a dog's toe it can actually bite it clean off! If a dog is slashed in the jowls this is a painful wound for a dog, and they usually bleed endlessly.
Dark Green: A slash over the face usually makes the dog less enthusiastic to attack. Blood drips off their face and blinds them, and if a few cats manage to grab onto the dog's back, it will stumble and trip, leaving it as a perfect target to kill. Blows across the flanks and shoulders also often injure a dog badly, leaving them staggering to walk, damaging their muscles... The back of the ear of the dog makes an excellent grab and bite hold, it makes the dog scream in pain, and is easy to bite and claw.
Light Blue: An attack here with several cats is easier. With a cat dangling off every leg, and two gripping it's tail, the dog will be dragged to the ground and left helpless as a swarm of cats end its life.
Dark Blue: The back is the hardes place for a cat to attack. However, though a minimum damage is done there, a fierce bite on the shoulder or spine after leaping onto the back of the dog will cause severe injury and pain. Also, a bite on the neck is possible, and cats are extremely good jumpers.
Gray: These places, it is most harmless to attack. The tail may be hurt, but this move is absolutely harmless. The pads are not only just about impossible to scratch, but they are rough and very tough skinned. Dogs are not easily wounded there.
Pink Rimmed: Dogs are weakened there. An injury there pains them terribly, and it takes forever for the bleeding to stop. Dogs sweet spots are ears and nose. As a cat, they should aim as much as possible for these places, and injure them even more!

Strengths
Since dogs are normally huge creatures with strong paws and snapping jaws, they are obviously strong and powerful animals. They are stronger (I did not say better) fighters, but are less good at hunting due to their heavy weight and noisy breathing. They are sturdy and not easily thrown off balance, and are very territorial animals, like cats. They can be quite ferocious, and if they grab a cat by the scruff and shake them fiercely, the cat is often stunned. A clout from one paw can send a cat skittering on its side, but be prepared for a cat to leap out of the way. They are more likely to dodge blows than dogs. The main thing that happens, is that dogs withstand blows and allow themselves to recieve injuries, while cats dodge, and avoid injuries. Dogs last longer even with injuries, which is why cats are more due to dodging. They are also quicker, and it would waste energy for a dog to dodge.

In the Fight
RP Fighting

In Roleplay battles, they have nothing to do with real life. They are simply battles, that you Roleplay. However, the battle RP writing isn't as simple as you think.

Here's an example of a WRONG FIGHT: Pete ran at Sam and tore her nose open.

That is not a good sentance in a fight. Sam's nose will not auto-rip, he needs to let Sam respond. Cat and dogs don't just get their noses ripped without a reation! This would be a better sentance:

Pete ran at Sam and tried to tear her nose open.

Yes! That is acceptable! Plus, he makes it so Sam can respond! Here is Sam's response: Sam dodged away from Pete, avoiding his attack. She charged back at him, trying to get his eye.

In fights, when attacking, always, when attacking, attempt, try, aim... Anything that means you're opponent can respond. Unless you're playing for two characters in a fight, who are fighting each other! However, this dodging thing doesn't mean your cat/dog is never wounded. In a battle you can only dodge five times max. If you're cat/dog never recieves any hits, what's the point of fighting? You are allowed to weaken the blow slightly. If the opponent aims at your eye, you may say your char turns his/her head so that the hit goes on their cheek instead. But they cannot dodge the blow completely.

Now lets spice up this fighting RP.

Pete flew at Sam, his teeth bared into a ferocious snarl, "Die!" he spat as he crashed into her. He aimed one paw at her nose, hoping to rip it to shreds. Let's hope this sends her running, he thought, growling.

That is an excellent way of writing a battle post. It tells what Pete is doing, thinking, saying, and how he is attacking her. This enables the other person to reply much more easily, and use better words. This is what makes a RP fun! Sam can respond:

Pete hurtled toward Sam in a flurry of bared teeth and flying fur, he snapped "Die" as he aimed a blow at her muzzle. Sam tried to duck, but Pete's paw caught her in the face, just under her eye, and she squealed in pain. She reacted instantly, throwing herself at him and trying to pin his broad shoulders to the ground. If that didn't work she would simply unbalance or trip him.

Great! It tells how she feels, what she thinks, sees, and how she responds! And also what she'll do if her "attempt" doesn't work! With opponents like sam and pete, you'll have to watch out! Smile

Since in Roleplays, all posts must be 6-8 sentances at least, it is good to include:

  • What your character's thinking
  • What your char sees
  • What your char hears
  • What your char feels
  • How your char responds
  • What your char will do in response after she responds

After reading this, I think some of us will become AWESOME fighters!
